HKS Hipermax Drag - Suspension Kit

The HKS Hipermax DRAG coilover kits provide the ultimate in drag racing suspension tuning with 30-way dampening, threaded dual-chambered shock assemblies and perches for height adjustment. Hipermax DRAG units are set up specifically for straight line performance.

Tuning your vehicle’s suspension is one of the easiest ways to instantly improve overall performance.  The HKS Hiper Damper suspension, which offers both ride height and shock dampening adjustments, provides improved handling characteristics while maintaining your vehicle’s ride comfort.  Ride height is adjusted by simply rotating the 60mm spring retainer perches around the chromed steel shock body.  The dual interlocking spring retainer perches prevent spring movement and unwanted ride height changes.  Dampening can be adjusted at 30 settings (20 on some applications) to deliver the desired shock compression and rebound stiffness for custom tailored driving characteristics.  The included anodized aluminium upper Pillowball mounts retain spring placement and improve steering response while maintaining suspension geometry. Additionally, some applications offer camber adjustments on the upper Pillowball mounts.   Each HKS Hiper Damper suspension system comes with all the needed adjustment wrenches, stiffness adjusting knobs, and miscellaneous hardware for complete installation and tuning.

Additional Information:
This is the ultimate suspension kit to give any drag car application the edge in Drag Racing. No other kit comes close. It has been tested to significantly improve quarter-mile times for the serious drag racing enthusiast.

Low rate springs are used for both the front and rear to nearly eliminate front rebound and rear bumping. New designed springs have 300mm of free height is now used for the rear.

Damping force of front rebound is set low to allow maximum traction at the start of a drag race. Additionally the damping force of front bump and rear rebound is set high to prevent nose diving during "instant throttle off" and shifting up all of which dramatically improves vehicle posture.

This suspension kit is not suitable for street driving as it was designed specifically for drag racing

A typical walkthrough of how the suspension kit performs in a drag race is detailed below:

At the start:
At the start the front side will be extended and the rear side will be shortened with both low rate front and rear springs and properly set damping force. The special setting makes significantly high traction to transfer the engine horse power directly to the track.

Throttle off during shifting up.
While shifting up, the kit keeps the front side high posture at the start with the damping force setting of high front bump and rear rebound. When re-accelerating there is very little posture movement to keep rear traction and ultimate car control.

At high speed.
At high speed, the base valve works brilliantly to stabilize the vehicle.
